Clearwater is the newest lifestyle resort in New Zealand, perfectly positioned on the northwestern outskirts of Christchurch, the largest city in the South Island. Central to the resort's apartments and accommodation is the spectacular championship golf course woven around an abundance of natural waterways and spring-fed lakes. Set within 460 acres of rural tranquility, Clearwater also features equestrian trails, jogging tracks, designated walkways, fishing streams and one of the city's most exciting restaurants.

Clearwater is aptly named. Its fifteen hectares of lakes are fed by an abundance of natural springs and crystal clear streams, teaming with trout. Water comes into play on fourteen holes and if the lakes don’t catch errant balls, then the acres of tussocks and marram grasses will. Clearwater has been awarded the highest rating of any course in the country by the New Zealand Golf Association. At 76.8 off the black or championship tees, it ranks as the toughest in the country. But there are four other tee positions to suit players of all abilities.

No resort course is easier to get to… Just seven minutes from Christchurch International Airport and 15 minutes from the Christchurch CBD, Clearwater is no more than a short drive away.

Clearwater Accommodation

The apartments at clearwater are setting new standards in deluxe accommodation in Christchurch. These stylish one and two bedroom apartments are contemporary in design and very generous in their proportions. Guests can stay in supreme comfort for just the night or stay on forever…as a resident.  

The stunning waterfront apartments epitomise lakeside luxury. Each features super-king size beds, feather duvets and pillows, enormous walk-in wardrobes, spacious ensuites, multiple TV’s, sound system and video, a fully-equipped kitchen and separate dining and living areas with room to roam.

All apartments have views across water to the Southern Alps beyond the golf course. The first stage of the Hotel at Clearwater opened in late November, 2002. Sixteen stunning waterfront villas provide thirty two individual deluxe hotel rooms and suites or they can be configured as two bedroomed villas. All provide supremely comfortable super king or twin beds and stylish interiors with beautiful views across the lake to the 8th and 9th fairways and the Southern Alps in the background. The two storey suites feature spa baths and the living rooms open on to water decks. All rooms and suites have access to a jetty at water level.

When complete in spring, 2004, the Hotel at Clearwater will feature over 300 rooms and suites and conference facilities for 350 guests, making it the largest hotel in the South Island of New Zealand.
